Press Release
Annabelle RoadDate:12/2/11COLDWATER, MI— Tapping the Motor City's rich musical well by way of Butcher Holler, Annabelle Road fuses the best of rock and country seamlessly to their polished originals. They’ll be blowing into Coldwater from the intersection where rural and urban sensibilities meet to appear as the third event of Tibbits Entertainment Series on Saturday, December 17, 2011.
In just two years, the band has already racked up an impressive resume. They were finalists in the “Next Big Star” on Kenny Chesney’s “Pirates & Poets” tour, have opened for country stars Phil Vassar and Gretchen Wilson, and recently opened for country/rock heavy-hitter Uncle Kracker.
Made up of four dynamic and gifted young musicians--with vocalist Amanda Bailey beguiling the crowds, and guitarist Jeremy Temple, bassist Larry Craft and drummer Donovan Tarjeft rocking hard as nails--Annabelle Road's infectious enthusiasm and tight sound come from an "all or nothing" passion for entertaining. "Even if it means no sleep, playing five nights in a row," offers Jeremy, "it's what we do." Amanda takes that commitment up one notch higher: "If my hair hasn't gone flat by the end of the set we haven't tried hard enough." This high-octane band lays it all on the line for a good time.
Cousins Jeremy and Donovan have honky tonk down deep for city folk, with both their Grandpa and Great Uncle having played the Grand Ole Opry in Hank Sr.'s day. The two cut chops in rock-n-roll bars, enjoying professional success playing blues, rock and R&B for several years before the familial muse called back. Amanda ditched performing at Disney World to follow her dreams with Annabelle Road. For her the move was a return home and to tradition in many ways: "Country is more a state of mind than a place. It's work, it's family, it's God." On the bass, Larry keeps time with classical jazz and symphonic experience in his pocket.
Tickets for this energetic performance are $22 for adults and $19 for Tibbits members. This show will feature a cash bar and an “On Your Feet Section” for those attendees who prefer to enjoy concerts on their feet, not in their seats. Tickets are available on line at www.Tibbits.org, at Tibbits office 93 West Chicago Street or by phone at 517-278-6029. Purchase tickets for the next three shows in the Entertainment Series—Annabelle Road, Jake and Elwood’s Blues Revue and Woody English and Friends—and receive a $10 discount.
Performance is held at the historic Tibbits Opera House, 14 South Hanchett Street, Coldwater. While restoration work is being done on the façade, the theatre appears boarded up, but remains open for performances throughout the year.
