Doo wop cast

COLDWATER, MI—

Students from three surrounding counties auditioned recently for the Tibbits Young Audiences production of “Doo Wop Wed Widing Hood” with 50 children being cast in the rousing 50’s style musical.

               

  

Director Lois Voss was extremely pleased with the turnout of students and the quality of talent she was able to choose from. “Lois’s quote, blah & blah….Children came from Calhoun, Angola and Branch Counties to audition. Etc….

 

The following 50 students are in the cast: Anna Armstrong, Naomi Blansit, Helen Blansit, Mara Bockheim, Olivia Carman, Christianna Carpenter, Samuel Carpenter, Kyle Clary, Jacob Covert, Lexie Crabill, Natalee Dally, Hailey Danielson, Madison Donbrock, Ben Fagen, Kendall Floto, Emma Grife, Shane Grindle, Becca Harmon, Megan Hoath, Aubrey Hodson, Maria Hostetler, Nicole Jodway, Mikayla Johnson, Caleb Johnson,  Dominic Kelly, Jeff Knaack, Jacob Knaack, Carly Kyle, Ashley Laukhuf, Clare Mayes, Katherene Milliman, Zoe Nowicki, Emily O'Dell, Emily Odisher, Sarah Odom, Nathan Porter, Gabriela Porter, Cami Price, Taylor Renfro, Grace Schelinski, Jenna Smoker, Austin Spray, Nathan Spray, Mary Tate, Cecelia Ward, Jamie Wellet, Jasmine Wellet and Anna Wendorf.

 

Rehearsals are three times a week and the students are memorizing their lines, learning their songs and remembering their blocking. Set in “fairy tale time,” the play tells the rollicking classic story of Little Red Riding Hood along with her athletic sister Big Green Riding Hood but with a 1950s fun, musical twist.

 

The story is written by Charlies Lovett and music and lyrics by Bill Francoeur. The production is produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Englewood, Colorado.

 

Show dates are March 18 at 7:30 and March 20 at 2 and 7:30 pm. There is no show date on Friday, March 19. Tickets are $5 and are available at the door, the administrative offices at 93 W. Chicago St., by calling 517-278-6029, visiting the web site at www.Tibbits.org or from cast members.
