Job Description

 

Special events, development,

                 Marketing coordinator

Responsible for overseeing all fundraising and special events for Tibbits Opera Foundation and assisting with marketing and development activities

Special Events

  • Coordinate current and develop new special events for fundraising and recognition
  • Work with Special Events committees to develop and carry out events including annual auction, golf outing, and other events as they arise
  • Work with volunteers and maintain all task lists, data bases, files and budgets related to events
  • Coordinate creation of marketing and advertising materials for the events

Development

  • Provide assistance for Restoration campaign and development activities
  • Work effectively with restoration committees, staff and volunteers to develop strategies to accomplish restoration campaign tasks and overall goals
  • Help maintain database, campaign financial reports, recognition, and donor relations
  • Coordinate creation of marketing and advertising materials for the campaign
  • Help explore and develop government, foundation and private granting opportunities
  • Cultivate, build and strengthen relationships with individuals, businesses, foundations and government agencies to expand funding opportunities

Marketing

  • Assist with marketing, advertising and public relations efforts for special events, programming, restoration, and general efforts to build a positive image of Tibbits
  • Help with press releases, ad design/placement, newsletters, e-marketing, Facebook, blog, etc.
  • Assist in developing new marketing strategies and utilizing developing media

Customer service

  • Assist anyone who comes into contact with Tibbits at their level of expectation or higher
  • Foster a sense of pride in the theatre that promotes customer service throughout the organization
  • Assure each donor’s recognition desires are addressed and conducted properly
  • Work cooperatively with the community

Board Support

  • Make written and/or oral reports/ to the board concerning development activities
  • Serve as staff representative on Restoration and Special Events committees

Other: Handle all other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director. Anything not covered by this description, is the responsibility of the employee to ask.

 

Work Conditions:

Works mainly in office area, but sometimes in the theatre, its premises, and the community 

Subject to frequent interruptions

Involved with community members, personnel, visitors, etc. under all conditions and circumstances

Physical/Emotional Requirements:

Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress

Must be able to communicate effectively with the public

May be subject to prolonged sitting

May need to lift and carry files and materials weighing up to 10 pounds

Travel within the county and surrounding area

Critical Aspects for Success:

Confidentiality is critical.  All concerns must be managed carefully and donor and volunteer concerns will be kept within the office.

Self initiative and creative problem solving are considered part of the work of Tibbits.

Work to foster an internal cultural environment where learning and discovery are the continual basis for communications.

Assist in planning and brainstorming possible actions that could be beneficial to Tibbits and look for opportunities to serve Tibbits more effectively.

Strive to project a positive, professional image of Tibbits Opera Foundation and Arts Council.
