Tibbits Young Audiences Auditions

COLDWATER, MI—

Auditions for the Tibbits Young Audiences comedy “The Monster Hunters” are scheduled for 4pm, Fri., Aug. 26 and 10am, Sat., Aug. 27, 2011 at the Tibbits Opera House.

Children in grades 3 through 8 are eligible to audition. At auditions they are asked to read from the script and even to make scary “monster” noises according to Carolyn Stewart, Tibbits staff member and the plays director.

“This play is a ghostly mystery comedy so it’s a great opportunity for children to demonstrate how creative and loud they can be with monster noises at auditions,” Stewart said. “We are looking for about 45 to 50 young actors.”

The play focuses on two clubs, one for boys called “The Secret Society of the Monster, Ghost, Goblin, Demon, Dragon, Evil Wizard Hunters Club and the second is for young ladies, “The Secret Society of the Girls Who Like to Make Bracelets Club. The fun begins when a bone is found in a graveyard and soon there are all kinds of monsters growling, screeching and causing mayhem searching for their bone.

Tibbits is thankful to the Coldwater Kiwanis Club for their generous support of this production.

“If possible, please have the auditionee bring with them a non-returnable photo to auditions,” Stewart said.

Showtimes are 7pm on Thurs., Oct. 27 and Friday, Oct. 28, 2011. There is a 2pm matinee on Oct. 29 at Tibbits.
