Press Release
Talent ShowDate: 5.25.2010COLDWATER, MI—Talented teens are perfecting their acts in preparation for the exciting 7th annual youth talent show at the Tibbits Opera House. Participating are singers, dancers, two bands, a comedian, gymnastists, musicians and actresses according to Carolyn Stewart, Tibbits Teen Advisory Board (T-Tab) coordinator. T-Tab is host of the event at the opera house. More than 31 acts from four counties auditioned to be in the talent show and 18 acts were accepted. “There was so much talent at auditions that it made for some very difficult decisions on which acts to include,” Stewart said. “We hope the ones who weren’t selected this year will audition again next year.” Students appearing include: John Arnold, Pimsupang Boonperm, Kaysie Burnside, Jacob Covert, Natalee Dally, Victoria Diffindal, Leah Edwards, Becca Harmon, Sehwa Kim, Alexandra Lyon, David Marshall, Nicole Maynard, Megan Miller, Cami Price, Kylee Renfrew, Kaneesha Shanneen, Joanna Sych, Richard Wilkinson II, Alex Wood, Casey Wood, Teddy Wood and Mohamed Zamzame. T-Tab members gratefully thanks Wal Mart for its sponsorship. The talent show began seven years ago when T-Tab members were brainstorming on how to learn more about the theatre. Haley Smith, Bronson, came up with the idea of doing a talent show. But she wanted to go one step further and have T-Tabbers do all the back stage and front of house jobs to help them learn more about the theatre. This concept has grown over the years and now T-Tabbers do everything from stage hand to stage managing to ushering. T-Tab is open to any student who would like to learn about the theatre, is willing to volunteer, and can attend a few meetings a year. Tickets are $5 and are available at the door, by calling 517-278-6029, or at the Tibbits box office, Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm. Show time is 7 pm, Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Tibbits, 14 S. Hanchett St., Coldwater, MI. For more information, visit the web site at www.Tibbits.org.
