Talent Show WinnersDate: 06.7.2010COLDWATER, MI—A large crowd gathered for the 7th annual “Spotlight on Teen Talent” show to watch local musician Mohamed Zamzami take home first place honors on Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Tibbits Opera House. An 11th grader at Coldwater High School, Zamzami played a song from the movie “Drumline” on the snare drum to win first prize of $100. In second place was Nicole Maynard, a Quincy 12th grader. Maynard won $75 performing an original monologue she wrote. Alexander Lyon won third place of $50 performing a monologue called “Hide and Seek.” Lyon is a 10th grader in Quincy. Fourth place went to vocalist and Quincy 12th grader Joanna Sych for singing a song in Polish. John Arnold won 5th place for writing an original piece and performing it on his guitar. Arnold is a 12th grader from Quincy. The talent show was sponsored by the Tibbits Teen Advisory Board (T-Tab) and supported by a grant from Wal Mart. The talent show raised almost $700 for the opera house. Any student is eligible to join T-Tab who is interested in the theatre, either backstage or performing.
