Cahlua & CreamDate: 07.14.2010COLDWATER – The popular Cahlua and Cream will fill the theatre with music from all genres in a must see event, Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at the Tibbits Opera House with a performance dedicated in memory of William “Buzz” Galliers. Galliers was instrumental, along with Coldwater auctioneer and friend David Norton, in bringing the duo Cahlua and Cream, composed of Lesly and Don Hale, to the Tibbits for the first time in 2005. Since then the duo has been brought back by popular demand; this will be their fourth appearance. Norton said at that time, “Buzz Galliers and I wanted to bring them to Branch County to share this amazing group with everyone.” Recently Norton asked the duo if they would to return to Michigan to perform in honor of Buzz. “I know Buzz would have liked this performance and I know he will be listening,” Norton said. The duo’s repertoire includes Broadway shows like “Phantom of the Opera” and “Chicago,” along with the music of Natalie Cole, Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner! The couple’s act doesn’t stop with the “grand dames” of music. They also perform great, sing-a-long hits from every era, from six decades. Anyone who enjoys music from the Fabulous Forties to the entertaining eighties, this is the group to see! Don and Lesly Hale met in Ithaca, New York where they both attended the Ithaca College School of Music. Starting in 1980, they performed together in a five piece band called DAZZ, playing club dates and fraternity parties at nearby Cornell University. Then the duo decided to pursue different projects, Lesly turned to acting while Don played trumpet for Paul Anka. This performance is graciously sponsored by Southern Michigan Bank and Trust. According to Patty Parker, Marketing Director for the bank, “We are pleased to bring back this popular duo and at the same time honor a great board and community leader.” Tickets prices are $25 and $23 for Tibbits members. They are available at www.Tibbits.org, or by calling or visiting the box office 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, and 9 am to noon on Saturday. Tibbits Opera House offers an intimate historic setting, air conditioning, handicap accessibility, and hearing assistance devices. The theatre is located at 14 S. Hanchett St., Coldwater, MI.
