CHC Hospice Sponsors the Overture Performance of “Grace & Glorie”Date: June 3, 2008COLDWATER, MI— It is summer time and that means Tibbits Professional Summer Theatre time. “Grace & Glorie” will kick off the season beginning 8 pm, Thursday, June 19, and running through Saturday, June 21, with a matinee performance at 2 pm on Thursday, June 19. CHC’s Hospice Services is pleased to be the sponsor for this overture performance of “Grace & Glorie”. CHC exists to care for the unique physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of a special group of patients and their families. The focus is on making patients as comfortable as possible so they can make the most of the time that remains to them. “We are honored to be sponsoring this Tibbits’ production,” said Debbie Reeg, CHC Hospice Director and Hospice Duck Race Chair. “We felt that this performance was such a great fit with what we do every day and we’re very pleased to share the compassionate care of hospice with the community through this production.” This funny, tender, intelligent play deals with two very different women: Grace Stiles, a feisty 90-year-old mountaineer, played by Donna Schulte, and Gloria Whitmore, a hotshot city slicker turned volunteer caregiver, played by Gloria Logan. They learn from each other and bond in ways that neither ever thought possible. This play, a comedy with serious thought provoking overtones, takes place entirely in Grace’s cottage located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia one recent fall. Its themes of life and death and the questions of faith are resonant in all our lives. Donna Schulte and Gloria Logan performed “Grace & Glorie” on the Tibbits stage in 2001 and liked it so much that they produced it themselves and toured across Michigan giving performances. They return to the Tibbits stage on June 19, 20, and 21 to once again delight audiences with their reprise of Grace Stiles and Gloria Whitmore. Make a night of it on Thursday, June 19; come early and enjoy the Chamber’s After Business Hours from 5:30 – 8 pm on Hanchett Street right in front of the historic opera house. Tickets are $26 for the 8 pm performances on Thursday – Saturday, June 19 – 21, and $24 for the 2 pm matinee performance on Thursday, June 19. Tickets are $20 for season ticket holders. All seats are reserved. Box office is open 10 am to 5 pm Monday – Friday.
