GLENN MILLER ORCHESTRA LAUNCHES ENTERTAINMENT SERIESDate: July 29,2008COLDWATER, MI— At 7 pm on Monday, August 25, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, considered the most famous and recognizable name of the big band era, launches the 2008-2009 Entertainment Series at Tibbits. Swing along at Tibbits with a song list that includes such legendary hits as “In the Mood,” “Tuxedo Junction,” Chattanooga Choo Choo,” Moonlight Serenade,” “Little Brown Jug,” “Pennsylvania 6-5000 and many more. October 18 brings the Army Brass Quintet with Woody English to Tibbits at 7:30 pm. Coldwater native, Woody English, returns home with this outstanding quintet representing our nation’s finest. The Quintet has performed for a wide variety of audiences and dignitaries in 39 states and 12 foreign countries. Their repertoire includes selections from all eras of classical and popular music. Escape the chill of winter with a performance of Parrots of the Caribbean at 8 pm on January 24, 2009. This Jimmy Buffet tribute band, with its sounds of a tropical paradise and songs of warmer weather, will heat up a cold January night. Treat your special valentine to a concert given by outstanding blues artist Larry Garner as he brings his unique sound complete with Louisiana influences and personal perspective to Tibbits at 8 pm on February 14. One short month later, March 14, 2009, Tibbits hosts the legendry Chicago comedy troupe, The Second City. They return at 8 pm with their classic side-splitting, often irreverent, sketch and improvisational comedy. Whine, Wine, Wine at 7 pm on May 2, 2009, ushers in springtime in Coldwater. This fun evening is filled with wine tasting and songs. The wine comes from one of our region’s fine wineries and the songs come from some of Michigan’s most critically acclaimed singer/songwriters. Wry Toast on December 5 and Ballet Folklorico “Quetzalli” on April 20 are additions to the 2008-2009 Entertainment Series. Wry Toast is an alternate for The Second City at no charge.
