Press Release

Tibbits Boosters to Host Dancing with Celebrities event

Date:August 12,2008

COLDWATER, MI—

Glamorous dresses, stunning dance steps, and Branch County’s own celebrities highlight an evening of fun and entertainment for the whole family at 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at Tibbits Opera House.

The fundraiser for the Tibbits Opera House will feature seven talented area couples: Christine and Ken Delaney, Rhonda Ives and Mike Brooks, Chuck and Jayne Lillis, Bill and Michele Milnes, Heath and Sherri Rifenburgh, Rosemary and Sam Russo and Barb Vainner and Larry Parks.

This exciting evening will follow the popular television show concept with judges, backstage interviews and a master of ceremonies. Dancers will perform their routines in costume to selected music. But there is one major difference.

Attendees can vote for the dancers of their choice which will count towards selecting a winner. Those votes will be tallied with the judges’ votes that night and a winner will be announced and presented with their very own mirror ball trophy.

Coldwater Mayor Gene Wallace, Judge David Coyle, and dance student Louise Fredricks are the judges for this fun evening.

Coldwater teacher and funnyman Kelly Ford will delight the audience as master of ceremonies. And just like on TV, there will be backstage interviews with each couple after their performance conducted by Randall Hazelbaker.

On hand back stage will be EMTs Jody and Bob Lewis, in case any of the dancers need medical attention!

After all the dancers have performed, there will be one last chance to cast votes. But anyone can vote now by putting money into decorative personalized canisters for each couple found at various area locations.

Tickets can be purchased at the Tibbits box office, 14 S. Hanchett St., Coldwater, for $5. For more information call 517-278-6029 or visit the web site at www.tibbits.org.
