TIBBITS TO HOLD OPEN AUDITIONS FOR AREA CHILDREN

COLDWATER, MI—

Kids, now’s your chance to get on stage at Tibbits. Join in the fun and come out for auditions for the Tibbits Young Audiences non-musical “The Emperor’s New Clothes” written by Hans Christian Andersen and adapted for the stage by Kathryn Schultz Miller.

Auditions will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, and at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, at Tibbits Opera House, 14 South Hanchett Street.

Show dates are Thursday and Friday, October 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, October 25 at 2 p.m. Director Carolyn Stewart and Producer Sue Spalding are looking forward to another spectacular show! 

All children from third through eighth grade are encouraged to audition. No experience is necessary. All that is required is a willingness to have fun and learn. Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script. If at all possible, they should bring a current photo that will not be returned.

 “We’re looking for lots of energetic students who want to have some fun on stage. It’s a time commitment of about six weeks, and it’s hard work but they will be learning and having fun at the same time” said Director Carolyn Stewart.

“The Emperor’s New Clothes” is sure to delight young and old alike. Performances are at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, October 23 and 24, with a 2:00 p.m. matinee on Saturday, October 25. This production is presented by Tibbits Young Audiences and Tibbits Teen Advisory Board.
