CBPU Sponsors the army brass quintet with woody english at tibbits

Date: 9/23/08

COLDWATER, MI—

At 7:30 p.m. on Saturday evening, October 18, Coldwater native Woody English will take to the Tibbits stage as part of an outstanding musical group representing our nation’s finest, the Army Brass Quintet.

The Quintet has performed for countless audiences and dignitaries in 39 states, 12 foreign countries, at presidential inaugurations and President Reagan’s funeral. Their repertoire includes selections from all eras of classical and popular music.

This performance, which is free and open to the general public, is being generously sponsored by the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities. Tibbits is grateful for CBPU’s continued support.

Along with providing the community with superb electric, water, wastewater and telecommunications services, the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities has a strong commitment to improving the quality of life of the community. Some examples of this commitment are sponsoring area youth teams, assisting Coldwater Community Schools in its "Green School" activities, and supporting Tibbits in its mission of preserving the historic theater and providing arts, entertainment and culture.

The CBPU is especially proud to again serve as a corporate sponsor for one of Tibbits Entertainment Series.  Last year the CBPU sponsored the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra.  This was an incredible event where Coldwater High School choir and band students performed with the orchestra.  This season the Board of Directors has unanimously selected Army Brass Quintet as the event to sponsor due to the interaction Coldwater native Woody English will have with local students.

Join the CBPU and Tibbits for this great performance at 7:30 p.m. on October 18. Tickets are available at Tibbits administrative offices, 93 W. Chicago Street, or by calling 517-278-6029.
