Strega nona and the Magical Pasta Pot

COLDWATER, MI—

A magical pasta pot, a boy who forgets to listen, and a town overrun with pasta combine into a story sure to satisfy your hunger for laughter and fun!

“Strega Nona and the Magic Pasta Pot,” comes to Tibbits for one public performance only at 6:30pm, Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010.

Strega Nona, Italian for grandma witch, has a magical pasta pot that only she can control. When she decides to find someone to help her keep her little house and garden, she puts up a sign in the town square. Big Anthony, who doesn’t pay attention, comes to work for her. Strega Nona gives him the list of chores to do and tells him what he must not do; he must never touch her magic pasta pot. Come see what silliness ensues when Big Anthony does not listen to Strega Nona’s warning!

The play is produced by Wild Swan Theater, based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which has 30 seasons of providing the finest in professional theater for families and schools. The company is well known for its quality productions, expert professional acting and inventive staging. Wild Swan Theatre has created a wonderful, original version of this traditional tale of the Caldecott Honor book by author Tomie dePaola.

This children’s performance is sponsored by Tibbits Young Audiences (TYA). The show will also be presented earlier in the day for school performances.

TYA presents programming for Branch County youth throughout the year, including two productions with students in either third or fourth grades through eighth grade and a teen talent show in the spring. TYA also presents performing artists in the schools.

Chicago St., Coldwater, or at the door. Tickets for adults are $9 and students are $7. Tibbits is located at 14 S. Hanchett St., Coldwater.
